Delicious lunch and friendly staff!Loved ev about our meal, don’t miss it!
The owner/chef and staff are amazing. You feel right at home as soon as you walk in. DINING ROOM IS OPEN and they have DELIVERY as well. This needs updated on Google Maps.
One. No credit cards accepted, 2. be patient… Three, overpriced, four bathrooms is a health hazard and toilet overflows if you flush it… Five food was mediocre… Horrible place sad!
Jacqueline makes you feel like family. Wonderful woman. Looking forward to visiting her again. Also, eating her food. Absolutely delicious.Fantastic service. Joy was our server.. Food was off the chain!I recommend this place for culture and a friendly atmosphere.
Outstanding food service atmosphere price was good but the service by Ms. JACQUELINE was just fantastic
Cant say enough good things about my over all experiences. Great food people and atmosphere
Great breakfast spot, very quaint. The food was really good, the service was great, very friendly and efficient. Would absolutely go back to try more of their menu :) I tried to eat the "big breakfast", I couldn't..And I'm an avg guy, with a big appetite.
Amazing food and amazing people. Very friendly staff. Good place to hang out and eat some comfort food that is made with a lot of love. Then there is dessert that is to die for.
The place is ok, nothing special. We ordered alligators but we finally got chicken. The owner told us that it was really close to chicken . We already had alligators and it has nothing to do with that . Just a joke ($18) for a small plate of chicken. the crawfish was good. The prices do not worth the food. Finally the owner charged us her tips without asking. I would not recommend the place.
Excellent grilled chicken po boy with grueyre cheese and ham. Big portions. Friendly family run joint. Eclectic. Great French inspired food.
Gumbo was great. Ms. Jacqueline is a very hospitable host. Pricey but well worth it.😁👍
We called in advance to be sure we could be served and Jacqueline welcomed us. I had steak with pepper and cream sauce and my wife had huge and tasty shrimp. Both were excellent and Jacqueline treated us like family. Nothing fancy but if you want food prepared for you and seasoned to please, this is the place. Our homemade cake was something else!
Food is fantastic, Ms Jacqueline is fabulous
One of those golden nuggets you find when you are travelling. The food was delicious, authentic local cuisine. Just what we were looking for, not too far off Interstate 10. Not fast food, but that's a good thing. Had eggs, crawfish, beignets, couche couche, and good coffee. A National Treasure!
What a great place.. feels like you have been invited into grandma's house. Coffee and beignets.
Great food and very friendly owner and staff!
Owner is funny and her food is to die for. Wonderful for a relaxing breakfast or lunch with a group of friends or family. Your not rushed you can spend time catching up on what's going on since you were last together, or just a girls night out. Have her pick a new dish out for you to try. You will be pleased with whatever she chooses for you.
Food was just ok.Service very unfriendly and super SLOW.1 hour wait after ordering food
I came from outta town to relax for the weekend and ate here for lunch and was blown away how delicious this place was! The food is genuine to the area and is unique. It is imperative that you eat here when you come to town.
Wonderful food, great homey feel and the food was prepared individually! We had seafood gumbo and the Parisians seafood salad! So good......
We walked in, Jacqueline immediately offers me a bite FROM HER OWN PLATE of the alligator sauce picante she has just cooked. It was AMAZING!!! I wasn't hungry and I still finished off my own order. Needless to say, the food is fantastic, but, the hospitality is even better. When in Breaux Bridge, please don't pass by her door without stopping in, if just for a glass of wine. This place is full of love! très bon Jacqueline, je t'aime!!
amazing food...atmosphere cozy/quite.... Jacqueline unforgettable
My husband ordered the seafood gumbo and was told it was about 2 1/2 cups. It was only about, at most, 1.5 cups, left a lot to be desired flavor wise and so he left hungry. I ordered the crab cakes appetizer as an entree. I knew something was wrong as soon as I looked at them. They were flat and too dark. It was easy to tell they were made from claw meat. They were absolutely flavorless! My much less picky husband totally agreed. Jacqueline is a kind lady and I didn't have the heart to hurt her feelings so I took the second crabcake home, but it went straight in the garbage. And only after we were ready to pay, did we learn they only take cash! After we finished our business in the area, we got a cheap burger for the ride home as we were starved. Just goes to show that being from Paris doesn't make you a good cook.
This place is a must for anyone visiting or living in Louisiana. The food is out of this world. The Eggs Benedict are to die for. Chez Jacqueline is the sweetest person besides being a great chef. She got very personal with us and even sit and talked. We visited many times during our stay and look forward to visiting again on our next trip.
Great place for breakfast! We had the big breakfast and it was absolutely amazing. The atmosphere was very friendly and the coffee was also great. We will definitely come back.
Lovely and funny staff! Great Gumbo, the salmon wasn’t as good.
This restaurant seemed like an experience of a lifetime. The menu lists a number of french entrées and appetizers that looked very authentic. The restaurant didn’t look as pretentious as french restaurants tend to be. What we didn’t anticipate is the uncommon sloppiness of the operation. Plates were overflowing with sauce to the point it was dripping on the table. This led to a very embarrassing attempt to transfer the food into a larger plate right on our table creating even more of a mess. All of this circus was performed by a waitress who was sweating so much that it was hard not to wonder how much sweat ends up in the plates. Her body odor was extremely disturbing. The food was not that great either. Green beans were straight off the can. Pretty miserable experience overall.
If I could give this place a zero, I would. I choked on the dry chicken breast, and the sausage tasted like vienna sausage. The food was bland and so was the French!
Owned by lovely French lady. Food was excellent. Do not expect fast food. You come here to be family and have a leisurely meal.
Real family ran restuarant! They make you feel at home and really care about their food and service. I came with my husband and father in law who are both from France. We randomly came across the place but really happy we did. They said the onion soup was exactly like in France and the crawfish bisque was the best food they had since visiting Louisiana. Food is really made to order, which is hard to find these days. Also, side note, they have REAL salads (with spinach, arugula, sunflower seeds and homemade vinegarette), fresh bread, anddd REAL butter not the margarine substitute you usually get in the south!!!
Love the food. .love Jacqueline and flo..
There are only a few places where one can chat directly with the chef. Jaqueline cooked for us a delicious meal at a very reasonable price for this level of quality and freshness. It’s a family business and I really enjoyed the personal touches, atmosphere and conversation which made me feel like in a traditional Parisian bistro in the middle of Cajun country. Un grand merci pour ce délicieux repas et le moment partagé!
Located in a small town, priced on the higher end, great service, good food.
Great Atmosphere and Food!! Friendly service!!!
Honest advertising .... food prepared to order, not fast, but delicous. Welcoming atmosphere and lovely experience.
Great food! Each dish is prepared individually, good food takes time so don't be in a hurry.
Funky, downhome decor with an exquisite flavor meld of French, and local Cajun Creole, and local seafoods/bayou foods. Mmmmm. Avoiding "fried" is not necessary...it's light and delicious! Jacqueline's dessert is heaven too... The day we came she had a Viennese Hazelnut layer cake. Get the Crawfish Bisque...you will love it.
Home cooked, authentic French cuisine. Absolutely worth the wait, money and drive!! EAT HERE!
Great place to eat, and enjoy the Friendly atmosphere. Not to mention The Bloody Mary's and Mimosas for breakfast on Valentine's Day. Thank you Jacqueline. We'll see you this Spring.
Best place ever. Makes you feel at home!
Don't let the building fool you. Excellent, authentic French food and Cajun food. Jaqueline is from France and has a wonderful joy de vivre. Only takes cash. Don't be in a rush because everything is cooked to order so come with good friends and enjoy the experience.
Great vibes and very welcoming service. The food was fresh and enchanting. Will easily recommend this restaurant to others. Fair prices and generous meals. Keep up the great work.
Very good breakfast great atmosphere Ms. JACQUELINE was outstanding hostess
What a disappointment. The sign on the wall says this is a fine food establishment so we were patient. We overlooked getting no refills. We overlooked the fact that they ran out of toast. I even offered to run to the grocer and grab a few loaves of bread. We also overlooked the hour plus wait for our food after being seated. We overlooked the fact that a couple enters 45 minutes after us and is fed within 10 mins(must have been locals) We overlooked the fact that our food arrived without biscuits that they were now out of. What i didn't overlook is getting eggs over medium that were raw. I couldn't overlook microwave cubed potatoes that they call hash browns. We also didn't overlook the use of bagged frozen vegetables( with corn) in the build your own omelette. This place is far from fine dining. The band was wonderful. Don't waste your money or time.
The owner is originally from France and she is the one who does the cooking. The building is historic (1800"s) and the atmosphere is down to earth. Try the Chicken Florentine burger! You can even dine out like a true french cafe.
Visited this place while touring Breaux Bridge and Lafayette. It was a very unique experience! The food was delicious, the people were amazingly friendly, and I felt like I was eating a home cooked meal with family! Also my time having alligator! Loved it!
Great food and great staff
Very friendly southern mood... Good but heavy food.. must try the crab cake... Worst thing is they don't accept credit card payment!!
This was the first time visiting Chez Jacqueline. Will definitely return. Food was delicious, more than I could eat. Ms Jacqueline is a very interesting person. If you choose to go, be sure to visit with her.
Food was amazing.
